Whole Foods Breakdowns: A Saga
monochromatic sentences
are where i like to spend my time
the kind you read 8 times over
and you think you might feel something
but you arent sure where or what even
and so you read on, you forget about the sentence
and then the feeling all together
but then one day
many months or years later
your body goes -ah ha!- and suddenly
you are brought back to the sentence
but this time you know
where and what and why and when and how
so then you try to tell somebody about what you have learned
to save them the time
but they tell you its not appropriate
to talk to strangers about existentialism at 9 am
in the line up at Whole Foods
so you take your cashews and your hard earned wisdom home with you
you tell yourself that keeping! thoughts! to! yourself!
is a form of actualization
and its something you should work on
but then you call your mom
because you’re only 25 for pete’s sake
and you’ve got the rest of your life
to be actualized
